This summer, Joshua McKamie is interning with the Young Leaders Initiative, an intentional living, service placement in the city of Detroit for college students. Josh is working at the Joy-Southfield Health and Education Center, a free clinic for the uninsured. At the clinic, he assists in basic patient care and medical record reviews. He is also helping to coordinate the Motown Mission Experience, a week-long, Detroit service trips for high school and middle school groups. Interns in the Young Leaders Initiative program work at their host sites Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, the interns explore different careers in service through a dialogue with the leadership of various non-profit organizations and churches in the city.
