Faculty Resources
CommunityEngagement@Wayne is an invaluable resource to faculty interested in the pedagogy of service-learning. We can help develop a new service-learning course or help incorporate a service component into an existing course. CommunityEngagement@Wayne provides faculty with connections to community partners whose work matches the educational goals of the course. We would like to offer our support and expertise to facilitate whatever type of community engagement meets your academic and course goals.
Please feel free to navigate through the links provided here to find sample syllabi, reflection assignments, and a guide to service-learning. Faculty looking to develop a service-learning course will be interested in our ongoing Faculty Grants for the Development of Service-Learning Courses. The expected outcome of the $2000 grant is the teaching of a service-learning course during the following semester. Information regarding this teaching grant can be found at Request for Proposals.
If you have any questions or would like to set up an appointment to further discuss the possibilities of adding a service requirement to your course, please contact Anna Maria Flores at 313-577-9216.
