Service and volunteering is an important part of being active in the community. As a member of Circle K International, a service-based organization affiliated with Kiwanis, I have become involved in many service projects. Through CKI, I have given cultural presentations in Detroit elementary schools, ran games at the Special Olympics, packaged food for Kids Against Hunger, and more. My three years at WSU have also given me the opportunity to volunteer at Detroit Receiving, Hutzel-Hospital, and Children's Hospital in various units and playrooms. We are lucky to have countless service opportunities in the city of Detroit, and I hope that others take advantage of them.
